My brother called me and wants to race our 69 mustang some this year. It's my moms old race car she gave it to us.  so we went and picked it up yesterday.

Awesome, post some more pics up once you get around to it.  The coolest thing about racing legacy cars it leaving them classic!

Ill have to get my mom to dig me up some pictures.
It is a gutted race car. I think it weighed 2750 with my mom in it. The motor is a 351 Windsor block and crank. The crank has been offset ground to 3.6250 stroke. It has 6.250 legnth eagle Hbeam rods and flat top JE pistons. The heads are iron would product heads that my grandfather worked. Solid roller cam. The compression is between 11-12:1. super victor intake. It had a 750 holley carb on it but it was my uncle's so I will put an 850 on it. The converter was to loose it stalled 6,000rpm and he kept that too so ill be putting a 4500-5000 stall in it. The car ran 6.70s in a 1/8. ran a 6.68 once in real good air. I have to put new valve springs on the heads, take the motor apart, clean and inspect it, put it in and let the goodtimes roll!

My son will only race on Friday night at redline our Sunday at Ennis. The Ennis bracket schedule ends the end of may so after that we will only run redline Friday nights. The mustang we are trying to run in the 6.60 index class that the only run once a month at redline and once a month at Crandall but my brother will mostly be driving once I get it tuned.  so I'll be at the lake a lot!!!
