This Morning

Put the Glastron in the water this morning and it was spittin and sputterin like it was running on 7. Took a slow cruise to get the motor warm and the rain water out of the bilge then gunned. Ran up to 52.7 on motor only. Here's the deal. It was spinning at 5,000 rpm, but in June when it hit 56.7 with the Edelbrock carb the motor was only spinning at 4,700 RPM.

I think the heavy use this summer put some wear on the pump. I'm sure sliding on the beach, packing it with sand, filling it with dirt and everything else has taken it's toll.

Did make a nitrous run too, got up to 60.9 and the bottle went dry..... ugh

Did you find out wha was wrong with your motor as to why it was sputtering? Did you grease your bowl?

I'm betting the pump is a big part of your MPH loss.  You have hammered that thing this summer.  You'll know soon enough.  The first nights down close to 30* has me ready to winterize mine.  I don't think it was cold for long enough Friday night to freeze anything but it sure makes me nervous.

I think the floats were too high. They're above the top line, but I haven't messed with it today. The house has been neglected all summer. We put a new roof on the shed this morning, then put new guts in the toilet in the master bath cause it's been running if you don't jiggle it. Also trimmed some trees and put on a new screen door. Still need to mow the grass before the Cowboys game.

Yeah, it's been a great summer too. My VIP I had last summer was a total pain. Everytime it was in the water had to work on it. The Glastron has been a complete joy to own. Have done nothing but put A LOT of gas in it.

Next Sunday will be it for me I think. The pump bowl will be the first thing coming off.
