I for one am guilty of never finishing my boat projects, Oh they may be running up and down the lake and they look finished to the unknowing, but I am constantly checking out other boats for ideas to make mine better or just more mine! The Liberator. is sitting on a dolly right now, with a new Ford in it, ready to run, yet the trailer is in the shop being repainted. I'm fixing to pull a brand new engine out of my boat (less than 10 hours on it) and put a Blown Chevy in it. The hull will be flipped for a bottom job and pump rebuild. All these items will be finished, when? I'd like to say the project will be completed by the start of next summer, but I know better than to try to set a firm date. First there is the money, (will parts sell, will overtime be available, will the air conditioner not break?). Second, the subcontractors I have to use, because I'm not as talented in their selected fields as they are. My experience with these people is they are readily available to take your money and promise you a date, but once they have your stuff torn apart they disappear. Third, Life happens, Horses kick the side of the barn out, Horses founder, water system needs serviced, trash needs to be taken to the dump, (yea I live on a farm and have different distractions than the city dwellers, but James, Cliff, and Patch all have there life moments). My point in all this rambling is there are others that will finish their projects before I finish mine, and that's all well and good. But my project will hopefully never be finished, I will constantly be building, tearing down, and rebuilding, I will start other projects, I will be lured with other distractions. Yes I do agree that the Super Bee Boat build sucks, but so do Fords, Jaccuzzi's and Patch (HaHa). But it is HIS project and his dream and I say go for it. If you ever meet Chrysler Jet, you would realize he is an outstanding individual, involved in many outside functions (family, boy scouts, etc.). We all share one common disease, his symptoms are just of a different nature.
