The ol fishing boat

Brought this ol boat home a couple years ago... The hull was in pretty good shape but everything else was pretty much trashed, all the cables were froze up, steering was froze up, gauges were all junk... Fuel system was shot, the hole boat was carpeted and been setting in the sun so long it pretty much falling out...

Father's Day weekend I got a wild hair and started tearing into it to see what I was getting myself into?? Everything in the boat was pretty much trash, I wish I had took some better before pics...

Hook a gas can up to the ol yamerhamer and a hot battery and the ol motor fired right up... Couldn't throttle it or shift it cause all the cables were locked up tight... But I knew it would at least run...

So backed it into the shop and started stripping it down...

Had the perfect opportunity with everything pulled out went ahead and laid a couple more layers of Matt in the floor and on the deck...the boat had some weird back deck on it that was all open underneath? It was really to light to walk on? And no good for storage cause it was open? So yanked it out and built a couple of boxes for the back while we were doing the glass...

Got that all smoothed out and took me a trip to San Antonio and picked up some grey gel coat and started trying to make er look purdy again...

Got the tops of the boxes all cut out and sprayed 4 coats of gel coat...

Then took me a trip down to flower bluff for something to start building it back up with...

This console was heads and shoulders above the paper thin console that was in the boat... I knew that I wasn't going to be able to use the ol console with the plans I had for the boat...

Started mocking everything up in the boat...

Figured that was a LOT of gray?? So took another trip to sa and pick up some black gel coat and some webbing agent...

Got the back seat tops done and installed and a new rub rail insert...

Then started working on the ol motor... Put kits in the carbs and a new water pump... Then called ol bert88 to come make it look better... He had 3 different single stage paints left over from jobs and we mixed all 3 together and this is what we got...

Took all the stickers and decals off (witch were all ate up anyway from the sun) and blacked everything out...

Got the boat rewired and new fuel tank and fuel hose, all new controls and new steering, and got the motor hung back on the boat... The glass on the outside of the boat was pretty far gone! So we shot a little color on the outside as well...

Took the little boat out for a test run and all and all the little boat worked like a champ! The boat hops on top of the water very fast and the little 115hp ran it right around 44mph... Plenty fast to go catch hard heads... 😎

So picked up a couple new tires, and put all new led lights, and bearings and races in the hubs and drug it back down to flower bluff for the last part...

First had him design me a little plat form for the back to help getting in and out of the boat...

Then had him build me a leaning post and a k-top to help keep my beer cold on those hot days.... Then had them powder coat everything black...

Took it to medina lake this weekend and ran the heck out of it all weekend... Prob ran 15 gallons of gas thro it and the little boat did great...
