Well my Sunday trip went well with my new rebuilt lower unit.  Hung out at a sand bar for a while went to put the boat back on the trailer and "YES IT HAPPENED AGAIN!!!" another lower unit froze up.  Back to the drawing board again.  :smile15:

That sucks! There has to be a problem somewhere else that is causing that crap. Maybe you have too much power for that unit?

It is a racing CLE.  I have no idea.  I had Karol with me the whole time and never hit it hard.  I ran it only up to 80 twice the rest of the time cruising.  I was going 40 when it quit.  I just do not know why.  think.gif

Is there a common part, that mite keep getting recycled between the units. Or are they all different units all together. Just thinking out loud. think.gif

They are heating up somehow.  I am checking if I can change the water flow somehow.

Or maybe not getting enough water? There a pick-up somewhere that maybe partially clogged or sucking air when you got it trimmed out & running??

I'll be the first to admit I don't know jack shit about outboards, just wondering out loud. :undecided: or "wandering" as Roger likes to put it...
