Stripped intake bolt hole

Options:
1) Helicoil - I already have the appropriate size kit.

2) Full-Torque - I have had good experiences with this company. They are the same company that made the stitching pins I repaired the other block with.  Not sure on the cost for the full kit. http://fulltorque.com/fft.htm

3) Timecert - Similar to the Full-Torque kit and may have access to one local. The inserts are only like $1.50 but the kit is ~$70.  If my buddy still has his kit this is probably the way I will go. http://www.timesert.com/

Any thoughts???

Guess I should have worded that better.  This is a hole in the head that an intake bolt threads into.  Stock cast iron heads, aluminum intake.  Edelbrock says torque bolts to 25 Ft Lbs.  Most it would ever see would be 40 Ft Lbs with a stock cast iron intake.

I have used Timecerts for stripped head bolt threads, so should be overkill for intake bolts. But that would be my suggestion.

The solution was that he replaced the block back in May.

Different issue.  This was a stripped thread in the head not the block.  I heli-coiled it back in April.  Just like I said in Reply #6  :smile30:
