Setting Pump Intake

TX-19 SBC

Need Help and Advice on setting a Pump Intake back into a TX-19.  I have heard about 4 Degrees but do not know if 4 Degrees Up or Down or if Pump Intake should be at 0 Degress and the ride plate at 4 degrees.

Thank you

Hi Paul the 4* reference is to the flat intake mounting plate vs the boat keel , assuming your working with a 4* intake casting to start with , you'll want to get the hull on solid footing (garage/shop floor) and get the keel level (for aft/ right left) then after you have tapped 4 corners of your intake for leveling screws , you'll want to match the front lower radius of your intake casting at + or - 1/32 to the forward intake hull opening and with an inclinometer or digital angle finder your intake mounting plate will then be adjusted (with the leveleing screws) to 3.7 to 4.0 degrees , once your good with that its time to dope with epoxy and set.... theres alot more so call if I can help

So answer the plus or minus question, the angle finder on the keel is set to zero, the angle finder on the intake is at 3.7 to 4. The low end of the intake is the back or the front?

Thank you for the Instructions.  On the Epoxy what do you use.  I have been told to use Marine-Tex.  I have been doing lots of work on the boat with The West Epoxy resin.  Is there a brand of epoxy to use?

Thank you
