Just scored header braces for the Ford, was concerned about all that weight leveraged out back and the additional weight of mufflers.  May not be a big factor with the iron heads, but future plans are for Aluminum heads.  Thanks Heavyd at Drag Boat City.  They have some nice used seats and used MSD's for sale.

Oops, third picture is of the linkage, sorry.  Next relocate the battery, install Monster Tach, remove Dash tach and replace with GPS, when it comes in.  Auto meter sent me a door post gauge pod for a VW Passat.  One number different in part number.

I've got to load the big guns, cause I hear there is a bad boy with a clamp-on gunning for Jet Boats.

For one to keep it together, one must have it together to start with.  I guess you still don't have your parts?  Don and I are going to be tuning on the 7th at Somerville, Welsh Park, there's going to be a car show there also, so it should be a good day.  Just hope the weather holds, although we do need Rain!

I have been out of town this past week so I do not know if they came in.  I will find out Monday.  If they are here it will only take about 30 minutes to fix.  All should ne good by then.  I also built a cav. plate I am putting on, this should help with the chine walking and get me on top qucker.  I can then run my boat around 45mph!

Just went to fire it up and sparks coming from the right rear of the motor. :smile22:  Cut it off, Had Cindy come in and start it while I watched from the rear.  :smile20: Looks like the starter is hitting the starter ring, or not retracting enough to clear the starter ring once it gets started. :smile18:  I wonder what could have caused that and how do I fix it?? think.gif

OK, but why would it suddenly start doing that, I have not change anything, but rewired the boat, and messed with the carbs?

If it hasn't been doing it and all of a sudden is, the starter is probably bad. Or you may need to check the wiring and make sure it isn't staying engaged. think.gif

Changing Starters, step #1  remove Motor,
                            step #2  remove starter
                            step#3  install new starter
                            step#4  install Motor.
How much simpler can it get.

mine was pretty easy,  remove exhaust manifold,  remove started,  have starter rebuilt,  install starter,  install exhaust manifold,  hit the water and have a good time....  clap.gif

Did you have your regulators mounted upside down in first pic?

Yes to tuning on Saturday at Somerville, Yeah Rub it in Kona, and that was the way the gentleman had them (regulators) mounted when I got the Motor.  I think he had to mount them that way to keep the fuel lines from making such a sharp bend going into the carburetors.  I don't think it hurts anything mounting them like that, is there a right side up on regulators?

Any way, ordered new starter, should be here tomorrow, mounted starter ring shield to rear motor plate, debating on mounting driveshaft cover.  Don't know yet, probably not.  I have a pretty full day tomorrow cleaning up the rear of the boat, fuel lines, bilge pump hoses, paint inside bottom, and polish aluminum, lots of polishing.
