I'm looking forward to another great Plowman event.
It's still the one I enjoy the most, even though there are others that are great too.
Does anyone remember when this thing started?  It was taking place before I knew about and I've been going quit a while.  Every year there has been a large turnout except for the few times recently when it flooded or there was a Government shutdown that closed the park.

It looks like another good turnout is expected, and as EO said, the sites are already filling up.

Seems I have read 20-25 years give or take? Garry Snow & a few others were putting it on originally from what I have heard/read. I bought my boat in 2005 and after meeting a few of the guys from back on Hotboat, they introduced my wife & I to what they just referred to as, "the Plowmans deal" or just "Plowmans"... Back then it was usually on the 1st weekend of October I believe & was kind of the last shindig of the year before fall/winter weather go too cruddy or unpredictable. 2005 was my first year & it had been going on already for awhile.

I still have to say thanks to Greg/Oldbuck40 for twisting my arm a bit to travel that far, and the others who initially talked it up & convinced us to go way back then... Greaser, Black, Esabataj(RIP), Texasjet. We don't make it up there nearly as often as I would like, but we have enjoyed every trip. Met a lot of good people & have a lot of good memories from there. :smile17:

When I first started going it wasn't just called Plowmans, but Plowmans is where it is.  (Please leave it at that)
I started going 2001-2003 and it was the weekend after Smokin' in the Cove and after the last organized dragboat races in the area.  It allowed the dragboat racers a get together at the end of the year along with the lake racers and eventually other interested friends.  Or at least that's the way I remember it.

I am working on it. Moved the nozzle back 2" and I am building a new ride plate. Changing the tune up. 250 to 400 the NOS and pull out 2 more on timing. Jet up the carbs for the cool weather. If I brake it I have all winter to fix it. It has are placement.
