well the only way to protest it is not have a cell phone,  we have spoiled ourselves with the convience of them just like paid television,  I,  myself have made a stand on the television deal,  I no longer pay to watch commercials,  I'll tell yall something fun;

we cut back our land line service and the lady at ATT said to us,  wow now that your saving all this money we can offer you this bundle that includes 3 dvr and satalite tv,  Konagirls says no,  my husband is tired of paying for commercials,  the lady at ATT says,  huh!  never heard that before.

I can remember as a boy when cable first came to be and there wasn't any commercials on there, other than your national broadcast stations

what needs to happen in this Country is people get on the band wagon and drop this paid shit,  never had it in the past so why now,  Oh the convience.

That fee has been there since 1997 when it was introduced to help lower income neighborhoods I think they just raised the percentage though.  I remember when that happened because I worked for the school district at the time and it was said that it was going to help get High Speed Internet to lower income schools.

Btw it tacked onto to your house phone bills as well. and Long Distance Carriers.  It was supposed to be a fee paid by the company well you knwo what they do with that they turn right around and charge it to their customers so they dont have to pay it out of their pockets.

Yeah, that's on the land line phone for the business. I have to have that line to run credit cards. We had a wireless card reader for a while and that was ridiculously expensive. Paying for the land line saves me a good $250-$350 or more a month on transaction fees, plus that  number is automatically in the Verizon yellow pages. It just sucks having to pay it. VOIP is another way to not pay it.

My cell is a Boost Mobile prepaid. $55 + tax a month, no hidden fees. Had a Magic Jack phone at one time too which was a screaming deal, but it sucks at data like a FAX or  the credit card machine.

I got rid of our home "land line" back in August....haven't missed it at all! In fact, the only people who used that line were the telemarketers....and I don't miss dinner time phone calls at all!!!!

I don't have a land line haven't for years but now those telemarketeers call the cell phone.

I think that the telemarketer contributed in a big way, to the demise of the home land line. The only reason I don't have one now is because I wanted to seek refuge from their harassing calls. I've only receive Ed two telemarketer calls on my celly....hope that doesn't increase. My GF gets telemarketer calls on her cell phone all the time.

I get 'em on the cell every now & then, not real often. I don't answer any calls from a number I don't recognize anyway so even when one does call, it just goes to voicemail where it can be deleted. Seems most of the time its those computer calls these days.

I pretty much do the same thing so if for some reason anyone here calls me leave me a message or I probably won't call back.

I hate those computer calls, sometimes I answer the calls and if there is a live person I just mess with them like reverse harrassment.  Just a way to stick it to  them.

If I am around a computer when a call come sin, I'll google the area code just in case to see where its coming from, on the off chance it may be someone from one of the boards. Last ones I was getting was 360, which is out of the Seattle area. Damn sure don't know anyone from there.

Tuffest telemarketer I dealt with was someone from Olan Mills Photography, them fukkers just would not let it go, lol... :cheesy:
