The area you are talking about is supposed to have a big O-ring that seals the transom adapter/cover to the bowl. Sometimes people will leave them out & run silicone around that area instead.

Water was spraying inside the boat or outside?

Yup, good call on bowl to pump gasket. That one would definitely spray!

Either way, not too difficult a fix... More time consuming than anything else.

Sounds more like the bowl gasket, like Coonass was sayin, with it spraying like that. Far as a shop in your area, not sure. Richard/Esabataj is up by you, you may shoot him a PM & see what he can tell you about it.

Couple other guys in your area are Nick/Sleek460 & Keith/77Spectra. If nothing else & you decide to tackle it yourself, there more than enough guys on here to chime in with tech support. Not a terribly difficult job, but will be kinda time consuming.

The pump is nothing to be afraid of, it is very simple. If it is spraying water you have a bad gasket. Pull the bowl off and Ill bet you find your culprit. You will have to mail order gaskets, but worth the trouble to do it your self. When you put it back together dont use silicone on the gasket. Seems to make em easier to spit out.
Good luck
