over the 4th of july weekend my oil psi dropped to 45psi at idle and wouldnt rise with rpm. I knew it had to be something with the oil pump psi valve, i thought it was stuck open by trash. It was open but not stuck, the moroso high psi spring i put in it was broke in 5 pieces! I dont recommend them now.  I put the stock spring back in in shimmed it .070. It had 85psi at idle cold last night when i got it all back together.

The pump is a melling. I put a high pressure moroso spring in it because of the clearance I had the crank grinder put on the rods and mains. Its all good now.

If you are running a Ford with any power adders,(cam, intake, head work),get a Jon Kaase oil pump.  around $256.00 but well worth the extra insurance money.  Go to his web site and check it out.

Iv never had an issue before besides that spring but I have thought about it. It's hard to spend the extra $ when you've never had bearing or oiling issues from any motor you have built. If my bearings don't look brand new when I pull my motor down this winter I will.
