Hey guys, just thought I would extend the invitation to you good folks of Texas. Should be a great time, the OKC group put this deal on in 2010 and it was fantastic. Lots of fast boats

I'm not sure how many guys on THB are going to try to attend this Meeker deal, but I wanted to pose the question that some of us Okies have been mulling over and get your thoughts. As you may know we are going to have a 1000ft course laid out for grudge matches and have been trying to come up with a good starting line option. I think the rolling start setup is pretty lame, and we are trying to come up with some different options. I have my opinion but wanted to hear the ideas of others.

I don't race,  but i have seen the opinions of some and it's seems on a certain size scale the start from an idle seems favorable.....  if i raced that's what i'd like... :smile16:

Seems like if you ain't goin from a roll, you'd be goin from an idling start? Not sure what else there is to do. I don't do much racin, but goin off idle is the only way I've ever done it.

See what Scott/Tintman sez, they do a lot of that. I see them referring to "going from a dig" which I assume is from a dead stop....

Thats how most lake racers do it...I'd rather go from a dead start...otherwise its near impossible to get a fair start. I really like the horn start they used at the winter nats deal. You can keep your eyes on the course instead of watching for a nod or flag...I also think that the 1/8 mile deal is much safer than running it out the back door! Thats where wrecks happen!  :smile30:

Thats my thought too, we have the means to do it however we want and the city is 100% behind having lots of action. might to try to have a rope and a tree on a pontoon or something like that. No timing equipment though
