I have been following this resto for the last year.  I stumbled onto it over on iBoats.com  It's not a jet or v-drive but you guys will probably enjoy it.  This guy has some serious dedication.  He is going to have one nice ride once he is done.

Thanks for the link, will make for some good reading. That would be cool as hell, go cruise for awhile on something like that, checking out different places...

He seems to be a pretty interesting character.  Believe it or not it is kind of a budget resto.  I was kinda shocked to read that he takes the boat out.  It actually does run quite well apparently.

...Now the cost. Is not as bad as it seams. I have been doing this a long time and still learn everyday,  but I do know how to get things cheep. Like my Garmin 5212, I have $400.00 in it and it sells for $3200.  Appliances and the five marine air units I had.  Now all the labor, you just have to know how to find guys that will work for free, not that hard.  Ok not really free I may give them $15-20 a day.  They can leave at anytime, but Bill has been here over two years and Tim most of a year.  Sometimes I help guys get off drugs and put a tool in there hand.  They love it and if they don't they can say Capt. Mike I have to go.  Truth is they just walk off without telling anyone, that's ok to.

I think after this long it just becomes a lifestyle not work.  My son goes out and makes the money while I stay here and
work on the boat.  I have a girlfriend that comes over a 3-4 days a week and gets in my way lol She does help me clean the cabins ad work area. She tries to convince  me there is more to life then boats, She wrong Jesus spent a big part of his life on a boat.
Truth is as I have gotten older my work day is seeing more 10 hour then 12 hour days. I still get in a lot of 12 hours days working.


Never be to prideful to walk away and realize the best thing I learned is what not to do next time.
Adding more spice dose not always make it better.
