What kind of work are you looking for ?

I am in need of a driver or two really bad , but the commute to the Houston area might be more than it's worth . I really need two drivers with class A's and tank endorsement bad though if anyone hears of someone looking for a drivers job .

Not sure about tank endorsements, but for a class A license in general, apparently not much it seems, lol....

A class A is a commercial license, its not too bad but difficult. Tanker endorsement is a written test. Now the hazmat is another beast, you have to be finger printed, background check approval from austin, and then take the test, and the test is a biotch. But as far as a class A cdl its just a matter of taking 3 or 4 writtten test and a driving test. :smile15:

I have a truck you can use to take the test if you decide you are interested . Right now the trucking industry is really hurting , drivers pay is up and fuel is at record highs . Something has got to give or there will be no trucking industry . Right now the best bet is with companies that haul thier own products rather than ones who haul freight for others in my opinion . We have other income streams to keep us afloat , normal trucking companies are going broke all over the place .

Well I didnt get out of the oilfield when I should have and it is taken a drastic fall. I'm looking to do any kind of work if anybody out there is looking for a good hand, or know of somebody that is hiring. Ive got 9 years in the heavy haul dept, good equipment operator, welder, and parts changer.. I know its a long shot but I gotta get the word out!!

                                                                    Thanks Jonathan

The job market sucks right now. I was laid off from an oilfield job 3 weeks ago, and am having a hell of a time trying to find something. I turned in 11 apps just last week. Its getting to the point where i would take a job pushing a broom if it was offered to me.  :smile14:
On a semi up side I should be getting my first unemployment check on wednsday. Its not gonna be much, but every little bit helps. I was hoping to find a job before I started collecting unemployment, but it doesnt look like its going to happen. This will be the first time I have ever taken any kind of hand out, but it doesnt look like I am going to have a choice.

I JUST NEED TO FIND A FREAK"N JOB.....  :smile18:

I understand completely, I've been in the oilfield for almost 10 years now and have always had my pick of jobs. I've made a pretty good name for myself in the heavy haul business and have always had at least 2 jobs on hold in case the red ass set in and I up and left would have another job by tomorrow. Not the case these days, been looking hard and nothing yet. One of the largest and well known companys in the east tx area is now possibly looking at closing the doors and its a little scary to say the least. Good luck in your search !!! Keep ya head up :smile15:

yeah old buck i guess i do,  :smile13:

i talked to my cpa the other day as a self employed individual i pay like 2% of my actual wage income to the texas workforce commission, you can be on unemployment a max of 6 months then if you get a job for an employer no big deal, if i get a self employed gig the TWC will then charge me 10% of my wage income for a period of ten years, or untill i pay back the unemployment i have drawn, i haven't filed for unemployment, but im running out of things i dont mind selling on craigslist.

Well, I know times are tough in the oilfield right now.  We've had a lot of consultants looking for work lately.  Either way, my boat is still down, and I can't find time to do stuff to it.  If y'all really need some cash, I would hire you to work on my boat if you could.  Y'all probably know a lot more than I do.  Actually, I'm 99% sure you know more than I do.  If you want to, let me know.
