Lake Texoma April 24, 2011

Thinking about hitting Texoma tomorrow, Sunday. Anyone up for a road trip up there??

Only been to Texoma twice and that was in the Whaler. Anyone know a good ramp and a good place to flat to?? I'll be coming up HWY 75 to Dennison or through Sherman.

Years ago, they use to hold outlaw boat races right by the dam, it was a bring what got run, sorta like Plowmans, only they actually had a starting barge with a starting flag on it.  I think there was a ramp there, better to check Google map then trust my memory.  Have fun

Had a great time on Texoma yesterday. Aside from about three bass boats and a 'toon, we were the only ones out there. We cruised most of the lake...had to stop on the west side of the lake at a marina to fuel back up.....these jets are thirsty SOB's!! Lol.

I'm glad we went out when we did....I can see that this lake will get crazy in an instant. Alcohol, go-fasts and tons of horsepower do not mix. The guys up there have more money than sense.....I'll stick with Lavon.

At the fuel dock I asked the girl behind the counter about Texoma.....she said she loved it. I told her that I was from Lavon and she said she stays away from Lavon like the plague......too quite for her. That's fine with me......we'll take our nice family lake like it is and she can KEEP Texoma. Lol.

I'm certainly grateful for what we have....a wonderful lake.
