I've been stewing about this....

first off i want to thank everyone on THB  that attended  Bay City Rally 2011 and the way we conducted ourselves,  we were most proficient and cannot be more proud to be associated with such fine people,  so now I will tell what I am most dissapointed  and embarrassed about.....  :smile19:


It was do to the local people of Matagorda County that attached themselves to this gathering through word of mouth and heard about BCR2011 at a local level,  this event started at a sandbar we held it at last year,  well this year we were back and the locals began to show up on Saturday,  the most embarrassing thing is our local people do not know how to conduct themselves in the manner that they cannot  clean up after themselves,  which in turn reflects on the event I have tried to hold and have the respect and support of local law enforcement.

it's nothing like showing up to your planned gathering and be asked if the trash left behind was the lack of resposibility of US ( HOT BOATERS) (this question was asked by another member that attended on Sunday,  quite embarrassing ) which i replied NO!  but the local trash I have to live with in this community on a daily basis    and that is what I rant about all the time.  Now i maybe getting hard to follow.....  think.gif

I kept this short and maybe some will take it constructively.....

Basically what I need to say... is I apologize to the people that comes from all over the Great State of Texas to spend the weekend in Bay City thru my invitation

Yea dont worry about it, people are lazy and worthless, no values, younger crowd usally. There parents should have raised them better. Had a great time. Didnt like the harrasment by the local Barney Fife(the police). Want have an open container at that boat ramp again  :grin: Is it legal to drink on that river?

Unfortunately they where on their way to the beach, as we left. The next morning it was trashed. But someone did ask them about it the next day, and it appeared they where a little cleaner this time. think.gif

It isn't just Bay City, Roger... We went to Colet Monday afternoon for a bit, ran into the same thing. What little beach was available back by the powerplant, some of the local critters had it trashed.... :tongue: When we got ready to go, Carole sez, "Lets pick that shit up...." I know they could all see us picking it up, but a couple of them did drag themselves out of the water & started picking it up too, out of embarrassment I guess. :grin: Least they got the message, no telling how long it will stick with 'em though.

I don't get what goes through people's minds when they do that, just throwing their trash down & then hanging around in it. :huh: I dunno, maybe they do it at home too & are just used to it. :lipsrsealed:

one of those groups showed at the new sandbar we used on Sunday,  and I understand that some words were said to them about picking up after themselves,  don't know if they did,  for we all left before they did,  and i didn't go back on the water sunday.

we took down their TX #'s  Sunday so when we have some time after leanne is out of school this week,  we can have a pawow with LCRA law enforcement,  about this subject be cause it's an every weekend deal with the locals here,  plus they knew we were holding this event and was supportive to it and i do not want them to think we were responsible for that kinda conduct  :smile17:

I always have trashbags in the boat, so we always carry out what we carry in. Sometimes more, depending on how clean it is when we get somewhere we going to hang out for the day.

We should have rode up there & bagged it up. Then take it over to them folks & told them "Hey, this is yours, you must have forgot it yesterday... " :wink: lol :grin:

RIGHT !!!! ,  the inside of my truck will fill a 55 gallon trash can,,  i don't litter,  DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS!!!!!  :smile17:
