I need a carb !

The carb that I was talking to another member here was not what he remembered it being , so I am still needing a carb . I would like to find a decent intake for a SBC as well , but can live with a carb for now . I am running a fairly mild 350 , so I think a 650 - 750 CFM would be about right . I don't want vacuum secondaries , or electric choke . Don't need to be a double pumper , but I would like for it to be . I can put in a kit and rejet if needed . Let me know if you know of anything .

How soon you need it? Buddy of mine may still have some small block stuff... Can't talk to him but in the evenings though.

Not a big emergency I guess . I am going to do some tinkering with the one that I have now and see what I can do to get it straight .

Yeah , just a cast intake . Nothing special , but it will run with this one until I find something I like .

I was just gonna say, I have an Edelbrock 750 you could try if you wanted to. I know how everybody is terrified of Edelbrock carbs though...

I have had a few Edelbrock carbs , one was great the other was crap . I think it might be who sets them up or something . I will probably stick with Holley though , seems like that is what everyone suggests .

Nah , I think his are Show and Shine carbs .  Look good from the outside , but they don't have any guts in them .  :smile13:

Anyone happen to have a link where I can look up the casting numbers for Holley carbs ? I know it's online , but I am feeling lazy today .

I have a Holley 700 cfm double pumper that I bought new for my '68 Chevelle SS, but ending up selling the car. It was on car for about 80 miles worth of running.

I think Tahitirat has a 650 double pumper. You might want to give him a shout. I'm thinking about putting a edelbrock 750 on my 460. I ran them off roading and on the street for years. Both are good carbs. Put a little Marvels in your gas and you should have good luck with either. I think a 750 double pumper is a little much for mild small block. Vacum secondary would be better if going that large.
