I must be getting old

I must be getting old.  I looked at the pics from Broken Bow.  I do not understand how someone would line up and race someone with their wife or girl friend in their boat.  Things can go wrong so quick. I have never hit a boat full tilt with someone in my boat except a couple of racer friends, for sure not my wife.  If I hurt myself that is one thing hurt someone else that is another.  While I am on my soap box I see folks making high speed passes too close to the shore where people are in the water.  We have fast boats and always need to be responsible with them.  Oh and by the way wear your jackets.  Now I feel better.  :smile16:

I know I am old but from past experience I have to give that statement a large AMEN!!!

after pitching myself and wife in water at high speed when I came up first thing I did was start looking for her! only about 30 at that time, but she has never gone over 65 to 70mph since.

well said when we make choice to go fast that is between us and our maker.  But hurt others would be tough for me to handle!

Good advice for all.

Don't take this the wrong way but I guess you had to be there. From what I could tell when the fast boats would make passes with passengers they were noticeably slower passes, off the sauce. I didn't see any acts of irresponsibility at BB myself. I make passes all the time with my GF in the boat, sometimes with her driving but it's a safe, heavy and slow lake boat.

Oh, I was not throwing stones, just making general statements.  I do not want to see anyone getting hurt.  I have done my share of stupid stuff and only have room to talk because of things I have done.  In no way was I trying to bash an individual or an event.  I hope to make that event one of these days.
