New Phone Scam Regarding MasterCard Debit Cards

September 24, 2013

We have received notification that First Interstate Bank customers are receiving phone calls and automated voice messages telling them that their MasterCard debit card has been locked. This call is a scam and is in no way related to First Interstate Bank.

The caller leaves an automated voice message that tells recipients their MasterCard debit card has been locked. The caller then says to "press 1 to unlock the card." After the number 1 is pressed, the automated system asks for card information, such as the card number and cvc code. Please do not disclose your card number or account/personal information during such a call. This is a phishing/scam phone call; First Interstate would never call customers and ask for such information.

If you have any questions about this or any other suspected email scams, please contact your local First Interstate Bank branch or our Corporate Security office .

Got email from friend who owns and operates TM (Trackmaster) Trailers in Garland........ he got the call Wed eve.  Same deal......

I am thinking if everyone they call would enter 16 phony digits for them give them something to do trying to trace down phony numbers? they waste my time and phone time so why should we not make them waste theirs?
