I never have gotten into this Chev vs. Ford stuff, BBBBBBBUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT! I will never buy another Ford product.  Within a year I have repaired the EGR cooler -$3500 then High Pressure Oil system- $3500.  Now I have a *&&%*&^&^% Blown head gasket.  This is a diesel with only 180,000 miles.  I have had diesels all my life and have never had this much problems with all of them put together.  :smile15: :smile15: :smile15: Thank you for letting me rant.  :smile18: :smile18: :smile18:

6.0 are notorious for head gasket issues.  the only way to stop them is to use studs instead of bolts.  the studs wont stretch like the bolts do and will hold better.  You might want to check since this is a major issue a lot of dealers still cover the replacement under warranty.  If you want the studs you buy those and have them for them they will install them otherwise they will just go back with head bolts and you will end up with the same issue again.  either that ot take the 7.3 out of cowboys truck and put it in yours problem solved.

Ford just had a bad motor....I had a 2005 F-250 Harley Davidson Edition with the 6.0 and it ran very well....would smoke the tires. The only reason I sold it was because the old lady ran off and I was paying her every penny I had at the time......in hindsight it was worth it but at the time, I was broke.

CJ brings up a valid point about the heads and once someone does as he mentions, the 6.0's run well.

Sorry to read you're going through this Henry.

I really think this is a snow ball running down hill.  A trade is in the future and I do not even need a glass ball to see that.  think.gif

I hope everything turns around for you Henry.  I think we have all been there at some point that it seems like all is in despair then its seems like the clouds part and the sun shines but in reality its all the dridging through it to get to where the sun shines and rain stops.

That 6.0 is the worst one international every designed for ford! It's junk unless you spend big $$$ for all the upgrades that ford should just fix because they are defects. Im glad they have their own diesel program now. I haven't heard too much bad so far?

You should have taken mine for a spin. Might have changed you attitude toward the 6.0. ARP headstuds, full EGR delete, and SCT make for a fun truck. ~420 rwhp in 8k lb truck is fun. Now throw some injectors and turbo in there and things get real fun. but I know exactly what you mean on the repairs. I've blown mine twice, HPOP as well, several injectors, etc. if you do get it studded, have the heads milled. They won't be flat...
