Exhaust tips and Hose question

Hey guys. The Trumpet exhaust tips I have on the Crusader look like crap and the flappers are gone out of them. I was thinking about installing some 4" angle exhaust tips in place of the Trumpets. Here's the link to what I was thinking about.

Do any of y'all have some of these laying around that are in good shape and want to get rid of them? I just don't want to pay $80 a piece for them.

Also, the flexible exhaust tubing is shot as well. Where can I get a good deal on it too?

Thanks!!

Ya, they sure are sharp looking and would look great behind a Mini day like ours. I just don't like the $80 price tag is all.

Those look badass, if I had transom exhaust I'd run 'em.

Far as price you may check with Tom @ JBP or Rex Marine, not sure if they'd be any more competitive or not, but doesn't hurt to shop around.

C'mon man, nuthin is cheap on these things, you know that by know...

you can get the hose at Stuart Hose , there is one in Lewisville and  Ft.Worth .. You pay per inch for it .. it is expensive !!!
I bought some for my ski natuigue when i needed it ..

Old Buck ( Greg ) bought some for his mini jet there also .

Did you find the exhaust hoses Cliff  ?

Ya, I searched around and wow, it's expensive stuff. I'm the kind of guy that if something looks marginally worn, I replace it.....I guess I get that habit from flying and working on airplanes for close to 30 years. I put new exhaust hose clamps on the hoses yesterday.....and will see how the hoses hold up this season. They seem pretty solid right now but I'd hate for one to fail while I'm in the middle of the lake and then sink.....that would suck.

Wouldn't the exhaust flappers prevent that? As long as they were in good shape & functional, that is....

WELL lets  think.gif about it......  your cruising along with exhaust blowing thru them,  the exhaust hose fails,  you don't know it till you find your feet under water....  i'd say that they are not gonna do much to keep the water out that is all ready behind them..... but not gonna try and prove myself right...lol  crazy.gif

There is that much water going through your exhaust, wassup with that?

But far as the flappers go, if they are functional, they should keep water out. Isn't that kinda the whole reason they are there?

The flappers keep the water from flooding the exhaust when coming off a plane and also when hit with a wave from behind when just floating. However static water pressure alone isn't enough to keep the flappers closed and water will still be in the exhaust hose. They are there just to prevent a sudden surge of water from back flowing into the exhaust. At least thats my understanding of how their function.

EDIT: I've got some external flappers that are hose clamped onto my Trumpet tips as the internal flappers were blown out.
