Dug the old car out, raised it up, vacated all the spiders....Pulled and disassembled the trans. :smile16:

Bidding on a new torque convertor now. :grin: jump.gif

When I first saw this topic I thought it was going to be for a hot old chick... err.. or a chick my age. LOL

Nice car though. I had a 71 with a 351 when I was 19. Wish I still had that car!

I always throw a low bid on something, just to get it on my list and get outbid right away. Then I wait till the last 30 seconds and put in a bid for what I'm willing to pay. Like on my Traxxas, it took me three tries to get one with a brushless motor and 4x4, but when I won it, it was for a steal. Same with the split bowl..

I had bid what I could spend. The ol was watching it for me, was at 99.99 until the last 2 seconds....went to 151.40 was no way to bid again. (and no more money, lol)

Got my eye on a nib lesser known brand I'll probably buy from chet herbert perf.

still, it's 240 bucks, have to save some more.

Yeah, worked in a trasmission shop for years...Tumlinsons.

I can handle the older units. just checking it out, all the problems were in the converter. crazy.gif

oh yeah, gotta get a gasket kit now, too... :smile19:

the ol' 289 is pretty radical, needs a loose converter...looking for around 2600-3000 stall. :smile26:
