I saw this on OSO and it seems like a neat product. I am sure there has to be a use for in the boating world but I am not sure what it would be. It is definatly cool stuff though.

Hell yeah
Imagine a bilge coated in that?
I wonder if you could coat sections of the engine internally with it like the lifter valleys to return oil faster.

Or the floor of the boat or the inside of the hull or the outside of the hull wonder what that would do?

Rain -X on steroids?  :cheesy: That looks like some pretty bad ass chit. I'd go back to running polished aluminum rims with that stuff on 'em. :cheesy:

Thats what I used to do after I polished them. Don't know if it really helped all that much to be honest, but thats what it reminded me of.

There are some limitations to it and according to this video it does not appear to be totally clear or at least it will have a haze to it. I think the bilge might be a good place for it but it does not seem to be very chemical or scuff resistant. I think they still need to do some fine tunning on it, but it has some potential.

The haze seemed to be most noticeable on the boots, could really see a difference with them side by side.

Its funny, all the things that come to mind where I would want to use it, won't work for some reason or another.  :cheesy: But like you say, there is definitely potential there. Where they made a "frame" on that piece of glass, that was badass.

The other thing that they don't mention is UV resistance so I have a feeling at this point it is not real durable. I don't think I would want that stuff within a two miles radius of a paint shop either. I could only imagine the havoc it could reap!!!!  :smile26:  It is very impressive stuff and I am sure there are a lot of uses for it but I am like you, I can't think of any right of hand that I could use it for.

Funny you mention that about paint... started browsing some of the links on the side of the page & a lot of them were for people painting their cars with Rust-Oleum... both spray & roller. You see any of those?

I only watched two... one where a guy painted a white shortbox Chevy black with a roller & a brush and another where a guy spray-painted a 93 Toyota 4x4 gloss black.

So if either one was you, at least take credit for the Toyota cuz it actually didn;t come out looking that bad, lol!
