Skater Factory

I just got back from a quick little drive up to Michigan. While I was there a buddy of mine introduced me to Peter (the owner of Skater) and took me on a tour of the factory..  To say the least it was an extremely interesting experience. Afterwards we all went to lunch and discussed boats and common aquaintences. Here are a few of the pictures I took but not all. The others are not supposed to be made public. It was a great time.

Jim, it's not a matter of trusting the existing group here but you have to remember anyone can find and see this site. :smile30:  Here are a few more unclassified  pics including the new Gulf racing boat.

Those are some pretty awesome boats.  Did one of them follow you home?

PS: I wouldn't post anything confidential on this site, there are some pretty shady characters around, ya know.

IT WAS and Peter is awesome down to earth guy with a good sense of humor but a boat building genius! No two Skaters are the same as they are all laid up by hand and then cut to size to suit each need. They will pull a boat out of the mold and cut it right down the middle and widen or narrow as little as 1 1/2 inches or up to 2 or more feet. He will do the same thing with the deck hight. It''s crazy!!!  BTW if you want one you better start saving your pennies and get your money deposited. I takes right a a year and a half to get one after you order it!! :smile13: :smile13: :smile13:

That's a cool place. Used to go visit when I flew for Kalitta. Did you see the M CON race boat? The sustained some heavy damage last weekend in Clearwater. The team said that they were taking it back to Skater to get fixed and race in Key West next month.
