Exhaust log leveling

During the past two seasons, I've had serious exhaust leaks. During a sustained run, the motor would eventually bog down due to all the leaked carbon monoxide in the engine compartment. After opening up the engine cover to get fresh air in, the engine would run fine.

Today I hope I've resolved the issue by taking the logs off and belt sanding each port flat and level with the rest if them. I used a straight and edge found there were significant gaps and unevenness with each port.

Here's a befor picture.

I'll post pictures of the blown out gaskets i removed and also the new copper gasket I've installed when I get home later.

Here's a picture if the old gaskets. Notice how the tops of them are blown out??

Hopefully with the leveling of the logs and the copper Mr Gasket exhaust gaskets, the exhaust leakage should stop all together.

I test ran the motor in the driveway and noticed that there seemed to be no leakage when I revved the motor. Fingers crossed, so far so good.

Man, that looks a ton better. This coming Wednesday is going to be real nice according to the weatherman. I should be splashing my boat also on that day.
