What should I have my timing set at?  I a currently TDC. 

I have a berk JG pump.  IT with the boat with a grease fitting installed on one side of the pump.  I have heard about adding oil to the pump but am I supposed to grease my pump instead?

I am running a 468 BBC.  I am using water logs.  Whats a good engine temp to be running?  All the bearings and cam are still new.  I'm not sure how long to break in the motor.  Someone told me the motor will run warmer until it is broken in.  Not sure about that.

My boat came from the factory with over the transom outlets on the manifolds.  It currently has "snails" or "Peatraps".  Do I get any benefit from going back to the over the transom outlets?

Is it possible that a 454 flexplate is not supposed to have weights on it? :smile29:

I bought my '76 Checkmate in Ohio.  I drove four days straight to pick it up and bring it home.  I blew the motor in 2 days. I have spent the last 8 years getting it put back together. I kinda felt The Damn'd Yankee kinda fit.  Any thoughts or suggestions. 

What is the process for tightening rockers on a BBC?  Someone told me to do it while the engine is running but I think they were screwing with me. :smile24:
