2014 Tawakoni Hot Boat Regatta

For those of you that don't get on Facebook the 2014 Regatta is still planned for July 25th-27th.
Here is my post on Facebook.

The Tawakoni Regatta is only a few weeks away. Just wanted to let everyone know that since there has been concern about the mud at 429 marina where we usually park the boats and and setup the course, we are trying to move it to a different cove. Jasson Lee found a spot near the boat ramps we all use for this event that is perfect with a sandy beach. We are going there by boat on Sunday to check water depth and any other concern that could keep us from watching and running the boats there. Everything else about the event will be the same.

Last time I went to a lake that was 9' low it cost me a transom, out drive, stringers! And last a motor totaling about 18k for that sand bar! And it'll be a year reunion come next month that it happened!  But this years she's full pull!! jump.gif

Lol yup and I'll just keep that tug boat off the water if it's that low! Lol thought I knew that lake well and 1' under, set a new sand bar that I'm fully aware of now!  crazy.gif

I'm not sure who the guy was. His helo had floats on it too.

The event location was off the hook this year. The beach was sandy, no mud and the water was very clear. I was very impressed by the whole event. Good Job to WAFOBABY and Motorhead.

The vid is cool but that is stupid dangerous flying that thing over people like that.  It is part of the reason the muti-rotor hobby is watched with such scrutiny.  One motor failure or prop failure and someone could have been seriously injured or even killed.  Those props and the RPM they turn are no joke.  If you are going to do it, at least use a Hex or Octocopter so you have some fault tolerance for motor failure.  I have one and have my GoPro on it.  I would never fly over people like that.[/rant]

I got tickled at the argument on FB about who was the fastest.  :smile26:  Go to he rope and see "How Big of a Boy are Ya" No slamming anyone but no way to tell unless you have lights.  think.gif  Looked like y'all had a good event.  clap.gif clap.gif clap.gif
